Ocean Springs High School, home to over 1,900 highly-talented students and hundreds of dedicated & award-winning staff members, consistently scores among the top three high schools in the state of Mississippi. Ocean Springs High School proudly serves the coastal town of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, a beautiful, arts-driven town nestled along the Gulf Coast.

Our Community
Ocean Springs High School is proud to reside in the heart of the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast.

The building above served as the public high school from 1927-1966. It is now serves as a cultural arts center for the Ocean Springs community and carries the name of former OSSD Superintendent, Mary C. O'Keefe.
The City of Discovery
Ocean Springs, also known as "The City of Discovery," rests along the coast of Mississippi on the shores of the Biloxi Bay and Gulf of Mexico. The small community of about 17,000 features quiet beaches, close-knit downtown scene, and a robust arts community.
Ocean Springs earned its nickname from the French, an establishment of theirs in 1699 by Pierre Le Moyne D'Iberville. Since that time, the community has grown to 17,000 strong, with heavy influences from the arts community.
Notable artists like Peter Anderson, Walter Anderson, and George Ohr made Ocean Springs their home, and inspiration for their artwork.
Ocean Springs serves as hosts of the annual Peter Anderson Arts Festival, a weekend-long arts festival that brings hundreds of thousands of visitors to downtown.
The 1927 Public School
Due to overcrowding in a growing community and a necessity for centralized learning, a new city public school was opened in 1927 as "Ocean Springs High School." Miss Mary C. O'Keefe was the first Superintendent of Public Schools at Ocean Springs, and the former high school building is named in her honor.
Present Day
In 1966, Ocean Springs High School moved out of the 1927 school and into what is now Ocean Springs Upper Elementary, where they stayed until summer of 2012. In 2012, a new, state-of-the-art school was completed along Old Spanish Trail, on the far-east end of the city.
