OSHS Volleyball Standout Selected for USA A1 Volleyball

Ocean Springs High School volleyball standout and future Dayton Flyer Amelia Moore has been selected to the USA Women’s A1 National Volleyball Training Team Program.

A1 Volleyball is the top level for USA Volleyball for players in Moore’s age group.

Athletes selected to this program are in strong contention to fight for a spot on the U.S. Women’s Junior National Team the following year.

Participating athletes will train as a group before splitting into teams of 12 for the USA High Performance Championships, an international tournament hosted by USA Volleyball which has featured teams from countries such as Canada, Chile, China, New Zealand, and others.

Tryouts were held around the country with thousands of athletes looking to advance.  Moore was selected as one of 48 to do so.  Depending on her performance at the USA High Performance Championships, Moore could be selected to play in an international tournament next summer.

“I'm thrilled to see Amelia selected for this level of competition,” said OSHS Volleyball Coach Brooke Engle. “She is a phenomenal student, athlete, and person.  I'm wishing her nothing but the best as she competes on the national and collegiate levels going forward.”
