Statement Regarding Threat Made Against Ocean Springs High School

The Ocean Springs School District is cooperating with law enforcement agencies in the investigation of a threat made against Ocean Springs High School.
The Ocean Springs School District will prosecute to the fullest extent of the law any individual posing a threat to our school district.
Due to this being an ongoing investigation and being an incident involving juveniles, details cannot be released at this time.
The Ocean Springs School District will take all threats, real or perceived, seriously. School officials always take immediate action upon any threat against our schools. We will always place the safety and well-being of our students and staff as our top priority.
Any time a student, parent, or member of the public has information concerning any type of threat against the district or a school, we ask that you notify us as soon as possible. Threats are not considered to be a joke, and any type of threat against a school should not be taken lightly. Upon becoming aware of such threats, local law enforcement and school officials should be immediately notified.
We continue to encourage the “See Something, Say Something Campaign” and remind you that school safety in everyone’s business.
