Army JROTC

C/LTC Regan Allen
Battalion Commander
OSHS Greyhound Battalion
"I look forward to leading you as the new "Greyhound" Battalion Commander. This year promises to be eventful, exciting and full of team-building exercises. If we work together as one Battalion, there is nothing we can't accomplish."

Classes:
Meeting days/time: Every day either 1st, 2nd, or 4th block
What do members do:
Depending on the individual's year members participate in different activities. Lower years focus on peer-led lessons in the classroom about leadership, citizenship, military values, and other life skills. Upper years focus on developing leadership, working the background aspects of the program, and are instructed on lessons about post-high school information and skills. Wednesdays are uniform days where cadets dress in a proper Army JROTC uniform and are inspected on their ability to meet the regulations set. Thursdays are when the class joins together and works on physical training to better their strength and resiliency as well.

- Participation - Active participation is vital in the JROTC. This includes being apart of teams, social activities, and community service projects. Cadets are also given opportunities in leadership develop exercises
Benefits:
Students receive credits PE, Health, CCR (senior year), and a 5.0 grading scale (senior year). Additionally, they get to participate in hands-on activities, work on cohesiveness with a team in the classroom and are challenged to push themselves to be individual cadet leaders.
Testimonials
"I have been on the Raider competition Team for two years. This team provides many opportunities to work together as a team and put our best effort into the task given at hand. Some of the many things that we do include getting to know one another, and working together to get many workouts accomplished (litter carry, tire flipping, running...etc). When going through with these tasks, we put our best efforts into everything we do. Once competitions come around, we work together, step up, and show out. "- Kyrie Knight
